Last week we watched the movie “About a boy”. Some om the students in my class read the book first, but I read “The absolute true diary of a part-time Indian”. You can read about that book in one of my previous blogposts.
“About a boy” is a 2002 British-American-French comedy-drama film. The film is about Will, a rich, child-free and irresponsible Londoner in his thirties who, in search of available women, invents an imaginary son and starts attending single parent meetings. As a result of one of his liaisons, he meets Marcus, an odd 12-year-old boy with problems at school. Gradually, Will and Marcus become friends, and as Will teaches Marcus how to be a cool kid, Marcus helps Will to finally grow up.
I liked the move, especially because of the relationship between Will and Marcus, two very different characters. It would have been nice to read the book as well to get a different perspective on the story.
Thank you for reading my post, I hope you liked it.
